PRP Hair Loss Therapy

It is a fact that SKINLIFE has been providing PRP Hair Loss Therapy Since 2008. Medical research shows that doctors with extensive experience provide treatments with greater skill and better outcome. This is why SKINLIFE believes that our experience is an indicator of the level of skills, knowledge, and science behind our PRP Hair Loss Therapy. Our injection services are grounded firmly on in-depth anatomical knowledge and extensive clinical experience. We carefully select appropriate injection depth, location, delivery method, and dose. Our philosophy is to achieve rapid and long-term reversal of hair loss. We strongly believe that our PRP Hair Treatment Protocol is one of the best in the world. Every year, many doctors come and learn our PRP Hair Treatment. In fact, our PRP hair loss treatment teaching course is an official training program recognized by the provincial licensing authority as part of their certification requirement.
Since scalp PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections as a non-surgical and minimally invasive therapy for Hair Loss was introduced in North America over a decade ago, it has achieved significant interest and popularity among many patients with thinning hair. As one of the very first clinics providing PRP hair loss therapy in the world,  SKINLIFE has been providing the PRP hair loss treatment since 2008. While such a spotlight has attracted a generous number of providers to adopt and perform the procedure, the quality of PRP may vary significantly depending on the platelet enrichment technique and the delivery method. SKINLIFE utilizes a specific platelet enrichment protocol to achieve high platelet concentration. In addition, we have carefully designed our protocol to minimize the loss of precious platelets and to preserve platelet’s biochemical integrity.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Hair Loss Therapy is a safe and natural approach to retrieving and strengthening the hair using one’s own growth factors found within the platelets, extracted and intensified from the plasma of the blood for hair restoration. This safe, non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment, free from extensive recovery times and chances of scarring, is used to improve symptoms of diffused hair loss such as male and female pattern hair loss, which often result in visibly thinning hair and/or receding hairlines.

Blood is collected and processed in a centrifuge using an advanced extraction technology to harvest PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) with a plasma concentration 10 times higher than that found naturally in one’s blood. The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is then injected into the scalp with a focus on each patient’s specific area(s) of concern, using the Vital Injector 2, a fully computerized automated intradermal injection system for a controlled and even delivery of the PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to the exact therapeutic depth of the skin with minimal loss of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). The direct injections of the PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) into the scalp boost the body’s natural ability to grow thicker and denser hair.

  • How many treatment sessions do I need, and what is the treatment interval?
After the initial treatment, patients are advised to monitor for initial improvement for 1-3 months as treatment outcomes vary from patient to patient. If effective result is observed, then PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Hair Loss Therapy is repeated every months until the satisfactory regrowth is achieved. Many patients require more than three treatment sessions for sufficient improvement. For male and female pattern hair loss, the improvement from the PRP hair loss treatment is temporary. As a result long-term maintenance strategy needs to be discussed and determined prior to receiving PRP scalp injections. There are several maintenance options including subsequent PRP injections three to six months, the use of topical/oral medications, and/or at-home LLLT (Lower Level Light Therapy).

  • Are there any supplementary measures I can take to boost treatment benefits?
The use of topical and/or oral medications, and/or the LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) helmet help fortify the level of improvement. These measures are often used to retain the initial gain with sessions of PRP hair injection. As the cause of male/femaile pattern hair loss  (androgenic alopecia) has a genetic and chronic nature, it is essential to take appropriate supplementary measures for effective and efficient management in the long run.

  • Is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Hair Loss Therapy painful?
Scalp is numbed with anesthetic injections, making the discomfort level during the procedure minimal to none.

  • Is there any downtime following PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Hair Loss Therapy?
Typically, there is little to no downtime following PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Hair Loss Therapy. Some tenderness and/or swelling may be experienced in and around the treatment areas.
